Abbey’s Table is a boutique cook book created for millennials who love to get creative with their meals. Filled with dietitian led recipes and no-fuss processes, the documents approach is perfectly fitting for the modern day master chef.
Art Direction, Branding & Publication Design
Matilda Wilson Creative were responsible for the art direction, branding and publication design for Abbey’s Table. A boutique cookbook filled with easy, nutritious meals that are best made in good company with a glass of wine. The overall feel of the document is inviting, approachable and fun, achieved through the combination of hand-drawn elements, typographic play and bright, explorative colour palette.
Through the combination of san serif, italic and monospaced typography, a dynamic design is present across each spread. It exudes personality, while retaining strong legibility – an absolute must when following procedures such as recipes. This typographic focus and final product allowed our team to develop a clear and concise set of paragraph styles which easily translated across a multitude of layouts.
