Creative Art Central is an initiative by Central Coast Council’s Love Central Coast sector, which aims to showcase our regions diverse demographic and geographic make up. Creative Art Central has been specifically designed as a digital hub for the artistic community.

Matilda Wilson Creative were responsible for the art direction of the brand, branding development, print media and design design. This process involved a strong strategy to effectively position the brand as youthful and engaging. Overall, the art direction is playful and highly subjective – a common denominator within artistic expression and upholds a wide breath of possible applications, ranging from collage to sophisticated communications of graphic and text based elements.
Communicating a Sense of Belonging
Through an emphasis on highly saturated primary colours and typographic combinations, the creative essence and digital makeup of the brand comes through without identifying with a specific style. This standpoint was crucial to the brand as it allows for multiple digital artists to feel a sense of belonging within the Creative Art Central community. Moreover, the use of hand drawn elements overlapping pieces of information is an ode to the artistic process and it’s inclusion within final pieces aims to indirectly demonstrate the importance of this attribute within an artist’s practice.
